We recently lost two beloved members of the Kornerstone family

Patricia Scruggs, a very dear member of the Kornerstone family passed away earlier this year. She went Home after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.

Pat was a mother to 45 foster children between 2002 and 2011. It is also with a joyful heart that Pat is seated with our Father in Heaven where she can be an angel to countless others. There are no words to begin to describe her heart for the children she cared for and the ministry of fostering that she devoted her life to. She will be deeply missed by all.

B.J. Klingensmith, a founding benefactor of Kornerstone passed away earlier this year after a long and fruitful life. Bernie was 92.

Mr. Klingensmith was a hard working man and often appeared a little rough around the edges, but when talking about Kornerstone and the children being cared for, his face and voice would soften as he listened to stories of changed lives and new beginnings.

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”
