Waiting Children

A foster child waitingThere are many children available for adoption in Texas who are in need of a forever family. When Kornerstone verifies you as an adoptive home after the completion of your preservice training and home study, you will be considered for all referrals received by CPS for adoptive placements according to your placement criteria (age, gender, number, race, special needs, etc.). If you wish, you may also at the same time, look at profiles of children who are harder to place because of their age, race, or needs. Here are a few links to help you begin your search for the child or children that may become a part of your family:

Texas Adoption Resource Exchange

The Texas Adoption Resource Exchange lists children in Texas whose parental rights are terminated and who are legally available for adoption.

Heart Galleries of Texas

Texas has embraced the Heart Gallery project. Many community volunteers have come forward to partner with DFPS in promoting adoption and assisting in the adoption of children. The professional portraits taken of the children who are waiting for forever families are very special memories for both the children and the volunteers. The "Heart Gallery" portraits are exhibited at local galleries or other prominent places in the community.
